IET supplies skilled and semi-skilled construction workers by trade across Singapore. You tell us the trades and the headcount; the workers are deployed to your site under your supervision and stay on IET’s payroll.

Skilled, semi-skilled or general — what to ask for

The most common costly mistake in a manpower request is specifying headcount instead of trade. Ten general workers cannot do the work of three carpenters and two steel fixers, and the rate difference between them is smaller than the productivity difference.

If you are not sure what the work needs, describe the activity and the programme and we will tell you the trade mix we would put on it.

How deployment works

  1. 1
Send the trade list, — headcount per trade, start date, duration and site.
  2. 2
We quote — per trade and confirm availability.
  3. 3
Workers report — to site and work to your programme under your supervision.

What is included

  • Workers employed by IET, with pass administration handled by us
  • Insurance coverage and PPE
  • Replacement cover if a worker is absent
  • Training and certification records sent before deployment where the trade requires them

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between skilled and semi-skilled workers?▾
Skilled workers carry a trade and the certification that goes with it — welders, electricians, operators. Semi-skilled workers support those trades and handle general site work. Most crews need both.
2. Can we take one trade only?▾
Yes. Single-trade deployments are common, and so are mixed crews. Tell us what you already have and we quote only the gap
3. How do we know the worker can do the work?▾
We send training and certification records before deployment, and for trades where it matters — welding, for example — we match the process and position to your requirement.
4. Can we scale the crew up and down?▾
Yes, with notice. Tell us the programme when you brief us and we will plan the ramp with you.
5. Who supervises the workers?▾
You do. They work to your programme and your site instruction. A foreman or site supervisor can be supplied alongside the crew if you want one person accountable for the gang.
6. Do you supply safety roles for the same site?▾
Yes — WSH officers, coordinators, safety supervisors and ECOs are often deployed to the same projects.
